slanted and enchanted…

Hawthorne Bridge

“you can(‘t) take the girl out of the city…”

CAN/CAN’T

Since my live/work space is in SE Portland, to get downtown, I have to cross one of the numerous beautiful bridges to get there. It’s nice to be so close to the urban…hence the CAN/CAN’T. You don’t see mountains, rolling hills and tress like this in Chicago, but you do see the buildings, the hustle and bustle, the homeless and the dreamers.

“you can(‘t) take the girl out of the city”

CAN’T? CAN?

The enchanting, romantic, dreamer side of me says yes…but I’m a city girl, so I’ll ease into it. Portland Oregon first : )

if you’re not part of the solution…

Bliss, Utah

“you can(‘t) take the girl out of the city…”

CAN/CAN’T

Sure…life can be cruel and there’s plenty of Crappy McCrappertons out there. But let kindness and goodness in, go see the beauty out in the world. Shake off the hate and make sure you have fun everyday. If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the cause. truth.

I love getting lost in the past.

Living in a big city that is constantly under construction, where the old is replaced with the new, it’s getting harder to find the “past”. Granted, Chicago is a city of historical and contemporary architectural marvels, but a lot of the details are lost in development or are in disrepair, especially old signage. Traveling across the USA, I’ve been stoked to see so many old signs still around, like this old Theater sign in Cheyenne, WY.

I had a chance to roam the streets of towns and cities when taking a break from driving. Evey place I went to had something enchanting…so much history, so much to learn.

Zombies are everywhere!

Accurate depiction of Wrigleyville, except if everyone there were zombies, it would be way cooler.

Not far enough away from Chicago yet I guess!
